Create the Future - 24 and 25 Oct

The youth summit to shape Scouting and Victoria 
24 October 2015 at Sydenham and 25 October 2015 at Trafalgar 

We want at least one representative from every Patrol, Unit and Crew to come and help shape Scouting in Victoria, and also to tell the State Government the burning issues for young people.

Who
The summit is open to all Scouts, Venturers and Rovers. We want at least one person from every Patrol, Unit and Crew to come and join in, but we’ll take many, many more.

Cost
$0

And what do you get for your $0? A great day of new friends, great activities, free food and a chance to contribute to the future of Scouting and assist prepare a report on Youth issues for the Victoria Government to set Youth policy.

Date and location
Your choice of either:
Saturday 24 October 2015, 10 am - 4pm, 
Catholic Regional College, Sydenham

Sunday 25 October 2015, 10 am - 4pm, 
Trafalgar Public Hall (and precinct), Trafalgar

Transport
Organise your own transport to the venue, or to one of the following bus pick-up locations. Sign up through the registration form and we will confirm details with you, including pick-up times, once we have numbers.

Whitehorse Showtime 2015 applications - closing soon

Whitehorse Showtime is a performing arts activity of Mount Dandenong Region. Applications for Whitehorse Showtime 2015 are now open and close on 
Thursday, March 12.

This year will see the 51st annual performance of Whitehorse Showtime. The 2015 production is a well-written and constructed theatrical experience that will again see over 150 young people on stage and more than 200 supporters helping out behind the scenes. Applications for the show can only be made online.

Please note that the cast is only open to invested Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Leaders and equivalent aged Guides. We welcome all applications - experience is not a prerequisite. Some departments do have age and number restrictions, however we can find a suitable role for everyone who applies.

This Sunday (15 February) we get out as a pack and show the city all the fun and colour of Scouting. There will be loads of prizes available on the day for people who share their #BigDayScout Adventures on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We're starting the fun early on Facebook and giving away a double pass to Adventure Park. The winner will be announced Wednesday so enter now here.

Arriving 9:30am for a 10:00am start at Federation Square for the launch of the Street Art Wide Game.

Upon completion of the Wide Game, entertainment kicks off at Noon in the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, including:
  • Live Entertainment for the whole family
  • Investiture of the new Victorian Chief Scout
  • Amazing Adventurous Activity displays & Sectional showcases
Live Entertainment concludes at 3:00pm. Showcases close at 4:00pm.

AJ2016 Jamboree - Applications Now Open!

Applications are now open for the 24th Australian Jamboree being held at Cataract Park, Appin, NSW from 2-14 January 2016.

23rd World Scout Jamboree Japan 2015

The Australian Contingent will be travelling from 18 July to 13 August 2015. Troops will enjoy a week long tour of Japan before arriving at the Jamboree site in southern Japan.

Applications are now being accepted for the Australian Contingent to the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan 2015.

To be eligible to attend this jamboree you must be ...

Youth Participants
  • Born between 9 August 1997 and 27 July 2001 inclusive (i.e. minimum age 14 years, maximum age 18 years)
  • An invested Scout and hold the Pioneer badge or an invested Venturer Scout and hold the Venturing Skills Award
  • A minimum of ten (10) nights camping under canvas within Scouting, with at least three (3) of them consecutive
  • Must be recommended as suitable to attend by your Group Leader and Region/District Section Commissioner, and be approved by the Contingent Leader and your Branch Headquarters.
Adult Members
  • Registered members of your Branch as a Rover, Adult Leader or Fellowship Member
  • Must be recommended as suitable to attend by your Group Leader or next appropriate level of Commissioner, and be approved by the Contingent Leader and your Branch Headquarters.
  • Adult members will be selected to meet required quotas as prescribed by the Jamboree Organising Committee.
Applications must be submitted online, have deposits paid, and required recommendations completed before 31 March 2014!
